Celebrities In Feather Santa Outfits

White ostrich and turkey feathers help to make a great Santa outfit.

But it doesn’t look like any of these stars are really trying to look like Santa in their holiday garb.

We can call it holiday spirited or maybe even Santa’s helpers.

Pam and Tommy

Katy Perry

Rachel Mcadams and Lindsay Lohan

There a lot of other great pictures of celebrities in Santa outfits but these are the ones that I was able to find where they are made with feathers.

Feather Centerpieces For thanksgiving

A feather centerpiece is a great addition to the festive tablescape that you have planned for this coming Thanksgiving Day meal.
Especially because some of the main focus of the holiday is on one of our feather friends it is even more so appropriate.
From the four centerpieces that I am going to feature here they all use pheasant tail feathers with one of the following; flowers, vegetables of the holiday, plants and a mixture of all three.

Celebrities – Feather Halloween Costumes 2013

Few things are more exiting then to see what kind of crazy feather costumes the stares wore out on Halloween.

I am sure that there are a lot more out there that I didn't find, but here I bring to you the ones that I did.

First up we have Adam Lambert dressed up as a vampire genie wearing a cool turban decked out with feathers.

Next we have yet another vampire, Kelly Brook all bloody wearing a nice white feather hat.

Still keeping with the feather head pieces we have Aubrey O’day dressed up as a Native American chief.

Last on my list is the “How I Met Your Mother” star Alyson Hannigan, wearing a feather buttonhole to go with her leprechaun costume.

Did you spot any other celebs wearing feather costumes this Halloween?

Let us know if you did.

How To Make A Raven Costume

Making the raven costume is simple in theory but requires a bit of work.

The most important feature of the raven costume is the black feather.

The more of your body that you are able to cover with them the better your raven costume will be.

Martha Stewart has some very detailed instruction on how to make a simple raven costume without needing to do any sowing.

Her costume consists of a feather bib, puff, feather wrist bands, long black nails and a beak.

See detailed instructions here.
Then of course there is the option of going all out and really trying to go feather crazy.

You can try and put together a crow costume like Heidi Klum. Here she is dressed up in a scary black crow outfit.

How can you make such a costume?

Simple, take any fitted black shirt and cover it with black feathers.
If you can use a turtle neck that would be even better.

Start from the top and using a hot glue gun attach the feathers in a upright position all around the shirt.

Using a feather fringe will make it even easier.

The feathers at the top should be covering the area of the neck above the shirt.

Each feather should be glued just right to cover the base of the one above it.

Once your shirt is done all you need to do is a blackfeather mask to finish off the job.

Beak and long black nails are an added bonus.

Let us know how it comes out!

Las Vegas Showgirl Costumes

Of all the costumes out there none can match the Las Vegas showgirl costume in the amount of importance that the feathers have to the costume.

I don’t believe that you could have a Las Vegas showgirl costume without feathers; it simply would not be able to bear the name.

The most feathered part of the Las Vegas showgirl costume would be the head piece.

Take a look at this feather head piece from the 28 year old production “Jubilee” playing at Ball`s casino in Las Vegas.

Here is a great picture of three Las Vegas showgirls in their feather head pieces and feather Boas.

Are they angels?

No their beautiful Las Vegas showgirls wearing feather costumes that seem to have feather wings on them.

If you go out to Vegas I am sure that you won’t be able to make it through the trip without seeing at least a dozen dazzling showgirls in their feather costumes.

But if you a really interested you may be able to catch another event like the all day in-depth look at costuming for Las Vegas productions like they had in 2010.

Are you thinking of dressing up as a Las Vegas show girl for Halloween?

Do you want to know how to make a feather head piece?

Take a look at this great post on how to do it.

Hollywood Feathered Costumes

Also the rich and famous of Hollywood love to use feathers in their Halloween costumes. Take a look at some of these feathered dress ups that the celebrities rocked out in on all hallows eve.

First we will start off with this picture of Heidi Klum dressed up in a scary black crow outfit. This was back in 2009 at her tenth annual Halloween party in Las Angeles. Picture found on http://newsfeeid.blogspot.co.il/2011/10/halloween-costumes-of-celebs.html

Next we have this shot of Calista Flockhart rocking a pink feather boa while hanging out with Harrison Ford. Picture fond on http://www.pinkisthenewblog.com/2011-10-30/photos-halloweens-13-celebrity-couple-costumes/7

Check out these two angels, stars fallen from haven, with their feather winged costumes. Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are looking dazzling in these white angel costumes. Found at http://www.seventeen.com/parties/ideas/celebrity-halloween-costume-ideas#slide-24

Summer Feather Fashion

In case you haven’t noticed yet, summer is here. Cue the laughter, sunshine, and good times all around. What else did you say? Oh that’s right, it also means SUMMER FEATHER FASHION!
Oh yes, it is here. It is EVERYWHERE. Where aren’t there feathers!

In the Ottawa Fashion Week, they covered this beautiful empire waited dress made of pheasant feathers. It’s available at Saks Fifth Avenue and is this season’s hottest dress. It will be shown at Ottawa’s Fashion Week. Watch for it on a fashionista near you:

Not sure what accessories to dress it up with?  Well, designer and Parsons alum Tess Johnson, has got you covered. Gold brings out the more subtle hues of those pheasant feathers, and she combined feathers and gold into this beautiful cuff. Check it out:

If pheasant feathers aren’t your style, and you like a bolder look, check out this beautiful satin column dress. Available in many loud, attention-grabbing colors, the strapless feather corset top is to die for. The black is not only chic, but also totally contrast the color featured on the dress. The beads on the center of the belted dress accentuate your bust in the most flattering way. This color was my favorite:

What feather pieces are you wearing around town? Let us know!

DIY Bridal Peacock Garter

Ladies and gentleman, spring is here. Say hello to feathers, flowers, sunshine, and wedding season. Something about that fresh air just gets our creative sides buzzing. What better way to take advantage of that amazing energy than a fun, festive DIY project?

Now a Bridal Garter is something you can personalize however you would like it – as much flair or as much simplicity as you desire. You can also pick whatever color scheme you desire. Personally, I can’t seem to get away from the stylish peacock feather theme. And can you blame me?

Check out this gorgeous blue peacock feather from Etsy:

And this beautiful combination of colors from weddingbee.com:

Now, how, you must be wondering, can I make this gorgeous garter on my own?
Well I’ll tell you.
All you need is a feather (preferably peacock!), some ribbon, some rhinestones, a cheap plain garter (they go for about 5 dollars), and a good ol’ glue gun.

After that, the fun is all on you! Place the feather how you’d like it, and secure it by tying the ribbon around a couple times. Then attach rhinestones using the glue gun, and, viola! A handmade, completely original, completely fabulous, peacock feathered garter made by YOU.

Toni Garn in Feathers

I’ll admit it. I don’t know the names of models. Or supermodels. (With the exception of Tyra Banks, of course. But really, who doesn’t know her name?) Even famous models who dated celebrities names’ escape me. But when I came across this model I had to know her name. And, my friends, that is because Toni Garn is fierce. Womanly, strong, and edgy, it is time to say bye-bye to empty eyes and starving girls in Gucci. This model has a delicous obsession with – you guessed it – FEATHERS.
And she knows how to work them.
Check out this amazing Native-American inspired headdress from trendhunter.com:

And this one from her feature in Spain’s vogue (also thanks to trendhunter.com):

In fact, Toni seems to have quite a knack for perfectly placing feathers on her head. Check out these white feathers that she incorporated into her braids:

But not only does she love them in her hair for some fierce, womanly, instinctual looks.
She also takes feathers to a completely classy place, in this gorgeous 40s inspired cocktail/flapper dress that I found on coolspotters.com:

White, big feathers are possibly the most versatile feathers out there. Toni shows us how to mix them with a champagne colored short dress, and also illustrates how they can be incorporated into every day hairstyles. (Though, as a friend, I advise you to keep the huge feather headdresses for costume parties only.)

Stay fabulous and fierce Toni. Can’t wait to see what you wear next.

Peacock Feather Wedding

Wedding Season is here! And with all the theme weddings, it's hard to find a wedding that ISN'T over the top. Recently I came across pictures from a simplistic yet elegant wedding that had a striking green, brown, and turquoise theme, pulled together by peacock feathers. Yes, feathers!

The bride carried a bouquet of turquoise feathers with a small flower in the middle and peacock feathers positioned strategically to pull the colors and theme together. It looks gorgeous with the green lace they added!

The groom, in place of a flower, pinned a single peacock feather to his suit jacket. Simple, yet different, it catches the eye, but doesn't pull too much attention away from his face.

The wedding cake itself was topped off with a dazzling bouquet of peacock feathers, accentuated by small purple rose buds and electric blue feathers. A must have at any fashionista's wedding. The stylish combination of colors is truly one of a kind.

To tie it all off, the bride and groom had all the quests sign a reception book that was sealed with a peacock feather! Could they get any cuter?

Have you seen any feathered wedding styles lately? Let us know or send us pictures in the comments!

Gold and Feather Earrings

Hello fellow feather fanatics! This week has been a huge week for feather aficionados.
Feathers are showing up all over the place. Possibly inspired by the spring season, with
birds flying around freely, or with anticipation for the Great Gatsby movie, maybe even
from the hit tv show Downtown Abby – Who knows? All I need to know is that feathers are
everywhere!

I simply adore these feather earrings by Aurelie Bidermann. Their sleek, effortless design
makes them perfect for any outfit, the gold adding a touch of class. I also simply love the
turquoise color of the feather, it is perfectly playful and just in time for spring season's
colors.
Sparkles or feathers, feathers or sparkles… who can ever choose? Well now you don't have
to! With these sparkling crown feather errings by Julu Jewelry, you get to have the best
of both worlds combined into one! And that bright green color is the PERFECT accent to
animate any ensemble.
These wispy earrings are full of earthy tones. They are perferctly subtle while hinting to your
slightly wilder side. The feather itself has a very intriguing brown and white pattern that
combines wonderfully with the gold. The moonstone adds an intricately calm final touch.
